As many of you have already heard, the STURDY Act has been passed by Congress. All furniture builders/manufactures are required to abide by the standards defined in 16 CFR 1261. Yutzy Woodworking has proactively made the proper adjustments to ensure the safety of our customers and their children in every home. We want to assure you that we will be doing thorough testing to ensure the reliability and performance of our products. Your satisfaction and safety remain a top priority.
Starting September 1st, we will be transitioning to the use of interlock systems and counterweight systems in our products. The interlock system will only allow 1 drawer to open at a time on our chests and up to 3 drawers on our dressers. This will allow us to keep full extension drawers and use minimal counterweights to meet the requirements. Please note our nightstands will not fall under The Sturdy Act due to the storage volume being below requirements.
